No optional cookie is set before you agree. Declining costs you nothing: the site works the same way, only audience measurement and the memory of some preferences are switched off.
1. What a cookie is
A cookie is a small file a site places in your browser. It carries a piece of information from one page to the next, or from one visit to the next: the language you chose, the state of a session, a consent already given.
This site also uses browser local storage, which plays a comparable role. The rules described here apply to it as well.
2. Categories used
Necessary — always active
Required for navigation, session security and remembering your decisions about cookies and age confirmation. They cannot be switched off: without them the site cannot work properly.
Audience measurement — with consent
Aggregate statistics on pages viewed and paths taken, used to find and fix what does not work. The data is not used to profile a person.
Preferences — with consent
Remembering the language and display settings you chose from one visit to the next, so you are not asked again.
Communications — with consent, off by default
Used only to limit how often information messages repeat on the site. No behavioural advertising cookie is set.
3. Cookies set
| Name | Category | Role | Lifetime |
|---|---|---|---|
| ej_consent_v1 | Necessary | Stores your cookie choices | 12 months |
| ej_age_v1 | Necessary | Remembers the 18+ age confirmation | 12 months |
| ej_lang | Preferences | Remembers the language chosen | 12 months |
| ej_session | Necessary | Keeps the session open | Session |
| ej_stats | Audience measurement | Aggregate viewing statistics | 13 months |
This list is kept current. If a tool is added or removed, the change is reflected here and the update date at the top of the page is adjusted.
4. Your consent
On a first visit, a banner offers three actions of equal visual weight: accept all, reject all or customise. No optional box is ticked in advance, and declining takes the same number of clicks as accepting.
Your decision is kept for twelve months, after which the question is asked again.
5. Changing your choices
The Customise link at the bottom of every page reopens the banner and lets you change category by category, at any time and without giving a reason.
6. Browser settings
You can also block or delete cookies from your browser settings. One caveat: deleting the necessary cookies also erases your stored decisions, including a refusal of the optional categories — so the question will be asked again.
7. Third-party cookies
This site loads no fonts, scripts or embedded content from third-party servers: resources are hosted locally. No third-party cookie is therefore set during an ordinary visit.
For privacy matters generally, see the Privacy Policy.
